Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Minimum age for admission is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
- Maximum age limit for admission is 35 years.
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Science stream) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
and obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in PCB taken together.
- Candidates must have passed English individually in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates from State Open School recognized by the State Government and National
Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government are eligible
only if they have Science subjects and English.
- Admission shall be as per DMER norms through MHT-CET / NEET, as applicable and notified
by the State Government.
- English must be a compulsory subject in 10+2.
- Candidates must be medically and mentally fit.
Aims of the Course
- To produce knowledgeable and competent nurses and midwives with critical thinking
abilities who are caring, motivated, assertive, and disciplined, capable of meeting the
changing demands of the healthcare system and society.
- To prepare graduates to assume professional responsibilities in providing promotive,
preventive, curative, and rehabilitative healthcare services in all healthcare settings.
- To develop nurses and midwives capable of independent decision-making within their scope
of practice, safeguarding patient rights, conducting research, and applying
evidence-based nursing practice.
- To prepare graduates to function effectively as practitioners, educators, supervisors,
and managers in healthcare institutions.
Objectives of the Course
Upon completion of the programme, the graduate will be able to:
- Apply critical thinking and integrate knowledge from physical, biological, behavioral
sciences, and humanities into nursing and midwifery practice.
- Provide promotive, preventive, and restorative healthcare services in accordance with
national health policies and programs.
- Apply principles of leadership, autonomy, and management to enhance quality and safety
in nursing and midwifery care.
- Utilize current information and technology to improve patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, peers, and other healthcare
professionals.
- Integrate nursing research and theory into evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for professional practice and lifelong
learning.
- Contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession for the improvement of global
healthcare.
- Practice independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Fees Structure
Fees for the academic year are charged as per the norms of the Fees Regulating Authority,
Government of Maharashtra.
